On February 27, Strutt & Parker will once again be hosting its Open House Day. On the day, hundreds of our properties - from Inverness to Exeter – will open their doors to potential buyers.
But how does this benefit both buyers and sellers?
Open day for sellers
If you’re selling your home through Strutt & Parker, the Open House Day is a great opportunity to open it to a wider audience. Not only that, but it provides potential buyers with a much more relaxed atmosphere in which to explore and get to know the property.
As a seller it can be difficult to balance other priorities with preparing and hosting regular viewings - by registering to take part in the Open House Day, you can schedule a large number of viewings for one day, freeing up the rest of your week to get ready for the move.
The day also encourages the buyers to act fast as they’ll see the level of competition out there for themselves as dozens of people turn up for the viewing.
The previous Open House Day led to:
- £53million worth of offers
- Over a thousand active viewers taking part on the day
- 86 properties going under offer as a result
Additional benefits include the extra publicity your property will receive as Strutt & Parker advertises the day through The Telegraph online, Rightmove and local press, and through its dedicated Open House Day search on our website, which attracts over 60,000 visitors weekly.
How to take part?
To take part in the day as a seller you first need to register with your local office or go online here. Following the dozens of viewings on the day, we'll follow up with anyone who’s viewed your property to get feedback, and hopefully, receive an offer.
Open day for buyers
As a buyer, you get the opportunity to visit properties in your own time without the pressure of having the seller looking over your shoulder. This means you can really get to grips with your new potential home.
As a buyer, you can also create your own schedule for the day. Visit lots in one area or take your time in one property – it’s up to you.
Plus, by viewing a number of homes in a single day, you’ll be better able to compare and contrast with every detail about garden size, views and location fresh in your mind.
How to take part?
To take part in the day as a buyer you need to register with your local office or go online here. Then take a look at the dedicated national Open House Day search page on our site and find the properties you’re interested in.
Once you’ve let us know, you’ll be given a viewing card that must be brought along to all viewings either in hard copy or on your mobile device. After the event, we'll be in contact with you to find out what you thought of the properties you saw. Who knows, you might want to make an offer...
