Much WenlockLocated to the south of Shrewsbury is the small medieval market town of Much Wenlock, noted for its stunning architecture, fine Abbey ruins and traditional shops and tea houses. It played a major role in the 19th Century revival of the Olympic Games, being the home of Dr William Penny Brookes, the inspiration for the modern Olympic movement and founder of the Wenlock Olympian Society.

Trains
Shrewsbury train station provides direct national rail links to London Euston (2 hours 32 minutes), Birmingham (1 hour 16 minutes) and Manchester (1 hour 14 minutes) along with a number of other locations.

The A5 provides easy access to the north via Wrexham and Chester beyond, and to the south via Shrewsbury and Telford – linking the M54 and M6 and giving access to the wider motorway network.
