An impressive and immaculately presented four-bedroom family home
Holly House is a beautifully appointed detached property that offers clean, neutral décor throughout alongside high-quality, contemporary fittings, creating a thoroughly attractive family home. The welcoming reception hall has wooden flooring and doors leading to the three main reception rooms. The 24ft, triple aspect drawing room has a splendid brick-built feature fireplace with a wood burning stove, as well as French doors opening onto the rear garden, while there is also a useful office and a light, airy sun room which also has French doors opening to the rear, filling the office with natural light. The sun room benefits from a new roof, making it a very usable space at all times of the year. The 28ft kitchen and dining room has plenty of space for a family dining table, the bespoke kitchen by Neptune provides a range of wall and floor units, granite worktops, a central island and a stainless steel range cooker. The flooring in the kitchen/dining room is Cathedral limestone and benefits from underfloor heating.
Upstairs there are four well-presented bedrooms including the generous principal bedroom with its built-in storage and en suite shower room. Three further bedrooms are all doubles with fitted wardrobes. The first floor also has a family bathroom with a roll-top Victoria & Albert bathtub, separate shower unit and underfloor heating.
Outside
The property is set in a beautifully landscaped west facing garden. At the front there is an area of lawn with border hedgerows and a raised bed at the side. The gravel driveway provides access to a parking area and the double garage with electric doors, at the rear of the property. The west-facing rear garden has paved and gravel terracing, an area of level lawn, raised beds at the side and a timber-framed pergola covering a further patio at the end of the garden.
Situation
The property is in the charming and highly sought-after village of Whixley. Equidistant between the historic and popular city of York and spa town of Harrogate, Whixley occupies a superb location within easy reach of a fantastic range of amenities, while still situated in beautiful rolling countryside. The village itself has a village store, pub, church and local playing fields, while Knaresborough, a short drive away, provides all of the everyday amenities required, including several supermarkets.
