Strutt & Parker in Banbury

Banbury is not only one of England’s most charming towns, it’s also drowning in history, and thrumming with life.

Throughout the years, the historic market town has been a hotspot for wool trading, a small industrial hub, and gave us the name of one of fiction’s most famous stories (Gulliver’s Travels author Jonathan Swift is said to have found the name “Gulliver” on a tombstone in Banbury). And, now, it’s a wonderful place to settle down if you’re looking for a small town with big character and easy countryside access.

The centre is a commercial and dining hub, with both big brands and local artisan options on offer, giving both a community and cosmopolitan feel. This lively location is also packed with historical sites, as well as other unique ways to pass the time, like floating down the Oxford Canal. Just a short drive away are highlights like Broughton Castle and the Victorian-era Hook Norton Brewery.

Banbury also has the benefit of being well-connected, with easy public transport links to Oxford, London, and Bristol. The roads around the area are well maintained and allow for plenty of route options, no matter whether you’re commuting, heading to a nearby attraction, or just heading out for a drive.

The countryside around Banbury is dotted with smaller quaint hamlets and villages that have a plethora of different housing options, most of which are graced with beautiful outdoor spaces that tumble out onto the countryside. The closer you get to town, the more your options open up, from one and two-bed flats to large Georgian houses.

The nearby schools are fantastic and in a great district, making Banbury perfect for families. Because of its history, diversity, and boat-full of things to do, there really is something for everyone who is interested in moving here.

What our clients have to say:

On the spur of the moment I responded to an invitation from Strutt & Parker for a free valuation of my house. To satisfy my family, I had already bought the assisted living flat in Bournemouth where I am now living, but I was in no hurry to leave my home of the last 48 years. This seemed a good way to move my thinking forward, rather than to make immediate plans. Emily visited and did all that would be expected, very pleasantly, quietly and efficiently. She made a good relationship. However, in addition - and this is a very important addition - she left me feeling that I would be comfortable in her hands. She was competent, in charge, yet considerate of my needs, gave something of herself - just the right personal touch. I decided to go ahead straight away. I have felt the same throughout the following months. Because, through deafness, I can no longer use the phone effectively, all our communication has been by email. Emily has been consistently business-like but also friendly, patient, keeping me in the picture, always aware of my needs. She gave me complete confidence, and this was justified. I would have no hesitation in recommending Emily Williams to any prospective seller or buyer.
Without your patience and persistence we have little doubt that we would not be in the position of looking forward to moving into our beautiful new home.
This is our fifth house sale and the level of involvement from your team has been incomparable to any other agency that we’ve worked with.
I couldn’t have felt in better hands, not only did you achieve above the asking price but you also exchanged and completed in record time.
