In terms of amenities, there are few better places than North Hampshire. As long as you have a car, you have easy access to the benefits and convenience of large high streets, shopping centres, and supermarkets, while also being blessed with a wave of independent farmers’ markets, boutiques, and other quirky stores. And that’s before we mention the hospitality scene, with historic pubs, high-end and fine-dining restaurants, and easy to love chain options that please everyone.

If you’re into history, Odiham may be a good spot for you to consider – after all, it has a rich history, including royal connections, with King John building Odiham Castle in the 13th century. It also has a strong community vibe, with plenty of events for locals to get involved with.

Transport quality varies depending on where in North Hampshire you’re based, but you’re never too far from easy rail links to London, and there are lots of buses crawling up and down the country lanes between the towns and villages that make up this section of the county. North Hampshire is also home to vast swathes of natural beauty, as well as attractions like Highclere Castle and Milestones Museum. And, of course, just over the county border in Wiltshire lies the ancient Stonehenge.

North Hampshire is home to a large number of families, drawn to the area by the space, community feel, and the ease of the commute to larger cities like Southampton or London. It doesn’t matter if you have little ones or older offspring, the region offers plenty for young people of all ages. This includes excellent schooling, as well as a wealth of activities, whether your children prefer bouldering or playing table-top games. 

Homes across North Hampshire vary hugely depending on where you want to settle. In larger towns like Andover and Basingstoke you’ll find modern apartment blocks and terraced housing, alongside large four and five-bed spaces complete with massive gardens. In the villages and more remote areas, there are lots of cute cottages and bungalows, as well as larger converted farmhouses, and homes that are older than many countries in the world.
